3Bears staff provided technical services at the NNSA site – Bannister Federal Complex in Kansas City to support a MARSSIM investigation prior to decommissioning the facility. Direct and removable contamination surveys, walk-over surveys, and gamma-spectrometry measurements were performed. Where contamination was found, it was removed, characterized, packaged, and the waste dispositioned. The decommissioning activities included generator support for off-site disposal of LLW, as well as providing data analysis and basis-development for establishing release thresholds for the client.
